There are the Winter Blues, but have you ever heard about the Winter Greens? Today Jade Fanatics I want to talk about the happy side of winter, being the Winter Greens.
You’re already thinking: oh goodness, what is this all about? I’ve never heard of such an outrageous feeling! Well, maybe you are right and I have just made this up, but you could also be simply… umm… uninformed… yes! Uninformed. Regardless, let me tell you what it’s all about.
Now we all know the winter blues to be this super sad time where its cold and cold equals unhappiness and unhappiness equals SAD (seasonal affective disorder) and SAD equals going out there and buying a Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp and buying a Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp equals filling the void of sadness you were previous feeling but now its better because you bought something new and are temporarily happy about it… really I could go on forever, but the winter greens are a little different. With the Winter Greens, you look outside your home in British Columbia or anywhere on the West Coast in North America and look at your Evergreens and Cedars and notice the green! Noticing the green equals triggering your inner calling of nature, triggering that equals the need of some green earthy things around you, green earthy things equals wanting to go shopping (for some reason whether its blues or greens you end up going shopping) and that wanting to go shopping equals coming on down to the Jade Store and getting some Jade to fill the void of not having any happy Jade in your life! It’s just that obvious!
Hey now don’t you start panicking, we have the cure to the winter greens. Especially right now we have 25% off for all your purchases over $50! Simply use coupon code holiday2017. If that isn’t the best deal I’ve seen all Christmas I don’t know what is (I don’t get out much).
Well there we have it Jade Fanatics, I know it’s short but here’s my advise to you: go out there and make someone happy, buying them Jade or telling them how much they mean to you, a little positive energy can go a long way.
This cool infographic gives an excellent explanation of some of Jade’s rich history.
Alright Jade Fanatics, gather round the fire as I tell you a ghastly tale about the Jade Store ghost. That’s right, we have a ghost, and thank goodness he’s friendly or else I wouldn’t be here today.
As you may know, Victoria is known for having a super haunted past, with many unexplained landmarks and abandoned buildings, railroad tracks, or even towns. There’s even an entire tunnel system located underneath Victoria, and one of the entrances is right here at the Jade Store! I’m not kidding. Located in our very basement is this giant door about 9 feet high, blocked up with bricks and sealed off with wooden planks and a metal door.
Anyways, there’s a ghost that’s haunting our store, and his name is Horace. He’s kind of a menace and one time he even broke a statue (it wasn’t me, it was Horace!). His backstory is a little jaded, and no one really knows how he came to haunt the place, but he’s here. Some say he was an old fur salesman (which would explain the giant fur cleaner we have stocked in the basement), others say he was an old man who worked at Gucci (this store used to be a Gucci). I’m leaning towards the fur salesman because how many old men have you seen working at Gucci!? No offense or anything, Horace.
Horace was lucky enough that we moved into his home, because maybe long ago he was an evil ghost (fur traders were nasty people) but the jade gave him good energy that he became a nice ghost! In fact, a few years ago someone got married in the store (no joke) because they wanted to be surrounded by good energy when they got married. Even Horace gave his blessing! Jade has changed his life, err.. spirit? and encourages you to do the same! If it worked for him, it may work for you!
Until next time, Jade Fanatics!
